The Nasby
History

Built in the early 1890s by real estate man Horace Walbridge and designed by Edward Fallis, The Nasby was Toledo’s first skyscraper despite having just nine full stories and two partial floors, topped by a steeple-like tower that was subsequently removed in the 1930s.

Originally named in 1895 after Petroleum V. Nasby, pseudonym of David Ross Locke, one-time publisher of The Blade, the building was renamed the Madison Building in the 1960s after it and the neighboring Wayne Building were covered with a matching façade to create the appearance of a single structure.

RKP Group is in the process of restoring the historic elements of the building, including its original name.
